Among the Trojans of this year could be found no stars, but in the words of Coach Leonard Raflensperger. They were a hustling bunch of fellowsf, Meeting .lesup in the lirst round of the sectional tournament, the spirited East quintet quite handily defeated them 31 to 17. Surprising power was un- covered the next evening in a lighting l .1 Porte team. vvlio battled the Trojans on even terms for three: quarters, but were defeated by .1 last game splurge 32 to 22. By defeating l7unlserton 36 to IS, the lfast baslxeteers captured the sectional championship. lfast then moved on to the llistrict, meeting .1 21 to 23 defeat at the hands ol' .1 towering Postville team. boasting four regulars over 6 feet in height. The game was a battle all the way. there being a ditierenee l'.:,Q1 ll-IA 1 of no more than two points in the score at any time. Honorary captain Alvin Rohle sparked the offense for the year, garnering 140 points to lead the scorers. Close behind were Roger Stephens, who, for the second consecutive year, was placed on jack Northls fourth All-State team in the Des Moines Register, and Steve Zegarac, sharp shooting center. The fighting Irishman. Don McDermott. proved to be the linest defensive member of the squad with his crafty play. lfddy Bisdorf improved as the se.1son progressed. and tournament time found him an im- portant cog in the Trojan m.1chine. Two juniors. Bob George and Stan XY'assenaar rounded out the tirst team and displayed some very noticeable playing throughout the season. Next season vvill find the team without the serv- iees of Alvin Rohle, Roger Stephens. lion Nlcllerrnott. and lfddy liisdorf. Steve Zegarac h.1s a half year of competition remaining. H11-'liao
