The Junior Red Cross of East High School, led by President, Donna Paschal, Vice President, Ron Mackey, Secretary, Delores Kneece, and Treasurer, Jo-Anne Chopp, has had a very active and successful program throughout the year. The Junior Red Cross aims to express the Declaration of Principles, for which the organization is formed. Based on both local and international causes, the club is directed by the American National Red Cross. Meier. evidence Every year an annual enrollment drive is held in September. Early in the year work parties helped supply and pack gift boxes which were sent 'to thousands of children around the world to meet their needs, but most ot all to till their hearts with happiness. As a Christ- mas proiect the members cut down and decorated trees for the Hor- ton Nursing Home in Bremerton. '26 6 65445 HI-C Club President, Lewis Busby, Vice-President, Diane Francoeur, Quiz Cap- tain and Chaplain Bob Bergquist. The Hl-C Club is an interdenominational high school group, sponsored by Youth for Christ. The pure pose of this club is to further the Christian education of the students of East High and to provide tel- lowship and a good time for members. Several local ministers, youth directors, and businessmen were guest speakers at the club meetings held each Thursday after school. HI-C entered a booth in the Girls','Cl-ub Carnival this year. They were quite successful in selling Ros- ettes. - One of the outstanding activities of the year wasithe three day holiday jamboree held in Tacoma at the College ot Puget Sound during the Christmas vacation. The East High quiz team, consisting of Bob Bergquist, Lewis Busby, Dale Helland, Diane Francoeur, and Shirley Raikko, won the state cham- pionship at this jamboree. ' Vice-President, Lin- nea Linden, Treas- urer, .loy Schmauch Secretary and Chap lain, Shirley Raikko The highlight of the year was the,Northwest Regional Finals in the'Youth for Christ talent and quiz- zing contest held in May in Portland, Oregon. The winners here will compete this summer at Winnona Lake, indiana for national honors Cmclffrom here go to the international competition held in Europe.
