in 1 President, Pat Halstead The House of Representatives was improved and the cheerleader question was once again debated. Sev- eral school government exchanges were also held. 1958-59 was a good year for the ASB,- a year of new ideas and a year of spirit contributing much to the school life of East's 700 students. Secretary, Barbara Larson Treasurer, Judy Jackson f-4. S. Z. The program in i959 of the ASB officers concerned itself with four main points. These were, community aids, social events tor the entire student body, financial solvency in the area of school activities and expansion of the spirit and personality that is East. The ASB card sales i9O'X:l, homecoming activities, and the Thanksgiving and Christmas drives all fell under ASB determination. The continuing crusade to secure an armor mascot caught school imagination and the program was put into effect with that ultimate objective. Every girl auto- matically belongs to Girls' Club. Girls' Club activities started this year with initiating the freshman girls. This was followed by a Big and Little Sister Party for the upperclassmen and their freshman sisters. T ' i fr X held in October. The theme was King Arthur's Court. The Cotton Ball, Senior Tea, and other special days are also sponsored by Girls' Club. Another part of the Girls' Club, which was organized for the first time this year is the Pages, These are representatives from each home room who keep the girls informed on all of the Girls' Club activities.
