It may not be the 20 ' s, but it ' s roar in ' Flappers, gangsters, speakeasy. Charleston. There ' ll be a hot time in Lee Town tonight was the theme for the Spinsters Spree. Sponsored by Girls ' Club, the gala affair was held March 1 1. with the tradition of the girl providing transportation and dinner and making a corsage for her date With all the hectic fun from the roar- ing twenties, couples danced in the cafeteria to the music of Colonwood Carnival booths in the girls ' gym varied from a ring toss and jail to the popular marriage booth. The stu- dent center became a speakeasy where couples could enjoy soft drinks, cookies, and cupcakes. Theater passes were given for the best corsages, judged in the areas of humor, theme, originality, and beauty. Rhonda Alex- ander and Jim Vallejo reigned as king and queen of the dance, with junior attendants Sue Staley and Blame Stevens, and sophomore attendants Diana Bolich and Pat Chamberlain.
