Changes Made In Spring A major change has taken place, and the East High Student Council no longer exists. Taking its place is Student Government. Along with a new name, an entirely new constitution has been developed with new and promising ideas, all con- tributing to better East High. Under the super- vision of Mr. Murphy and Mr. Raymond, the new constitution has been set up into four branches: Executive Board, Senate, Student Government House, and committees, all providing for a better understanding of our school. Building Better Ideas Fall Student Council ' s main incentive was to promote worthwhile ideas in helping build a bet- ter school. Under the leadership of president Larry Davis, the fall council was divided into voluntary committee groups in order to help establish a better form of government. These different committees served special purposes with the planning of different outside activities. The council also provided other activities in or- der to help bring about a better relationship be- tween students and faculty, such as the pre- Thanksgiving and Christmas dance. Cheerleaders Promote School Spirit We are the Scarlets, Mighty, Mighty Scar- lets. This is just a phrase of one of the many cheers used by the 1969-70 East High Cheer- leaders. Under the supervision of Mrs. Knott and Mrs. Fraim, this year ' s Cheerleaders have undergone many hours of hard practice in order to help promote school spirit.
