After hours Jeri Carlson, Nancy McCamey, and Bob Nelson are ready to explain their family trees to the class.

A new machine is the Teletrainer, which is a set of telephones that train these future clerical workers in handling telephone calls, the conversations, and other problems. Driving is skill as well as knowledge. Mr. McAdam shows driving techniques to Jerry Newbrough and Bob Whitson. Jerry Smith adds the finishing touches to his project, made in Mr. Rasmussen ' s woodworking class. Timed writings build accuracy and speed. These students have daily timed writings and make a chart of their improvements. Miss Elwood ' s typing classes benefit a great deal from these procedures. — 10—

In science, a man can really put his knowledge to full use. Here Mr. Rathert is explaining to Jeff Jeffries, Carl Clair, and Harlin Donaldson the advantage of the scientific approach. The two semesters of radio with Miss Whitford emphasizes voice projection of ideas via the microphone. Through the use of news, commercials, or play scripts, voice improvement such as volume, pitch, vitality, and articulation are the basis of criticism and drill. One day each week, members who qualify participate on the school radio station KDPS as announcers or assistants in floor direction and control, as Kathy McDougal and Lee Ann Siders are doing here.
