Stonoff Biology, Science Seminar M.A. - Indiana Sciences Pioneer Education Methods With the field, of Science growing more and more in the world today, the Science Department of East High must advance as well. The goal of the Science Depart- ment is to give each student a solid understanding of each branch of science. Many new ideas of classroom teaching were experimented with in the Science Depart- ment this year. One of these was an ungraded Science Seminar class. In this pre- dominately senior class, the students were allowed to pur- sue any field of science. Karen Miller and Joe Morales examine a specimen under the microscope.

'Awareness' Urged In ocial Studies Increasing importance is being placed on the American citizen to uphold the traditional heritage of his nation. Classes in the social studies department include world his- tory, world geography, American history, American govern- ment, and economics. Mathematics Challenges All Students Because Mathematics is so impor- tant in all fields, the Math Depart- ment has a very important job to do. It must prepare the students of East High for anything they might do after graduation. With accelerated classes in algebra and geometry, the more advanced students may study to their highest abilities. The stu- dent, regardless of his ability, will benefit from any class in which he chooses to enroll.
