Varsity E was the instigator of a dis- tinct cheering section at games, and re- sponsible for bringing the Yuletide spirit to East through the decorating of the foyer, and the playing of Christmas carols before and after school. F. T. A. The Future Teachers of America Club was organized this year by students in- terested in teaching as a career. Mem- bers substitute for absent teachers and also grade papers. Student Council Student Council, main governing body of our school, provides a basic foundation for students in acquiring the qualities of leadership, friendship, responsibility and dependability which enables them to co- operate with others, not only in school but in future life. Your Student Council representing you, strives to improve the standing of the school and its students by promoting vari- ous club projects. Members are elected from every homeroom in the school. President's Council Willingness to cooperate and spread fellowship is very important for the exist- ence of any group. This is the foundation for the newly organized President's Coun- cil, made up of presidents from each school club, to promote school spirit, and to Create more interest and greater activ- ity in school affairs. Latin Club The Inter-Nos Latin Club completed a successful year in the study of Roman life and appreciation of Latin in practical life.
