N. H. S. It Was In . . . September- New officers . . . Elections were held and when the smoke of battle cleared, lack Unger emerged as president, with Helen Cataland. Mary Ronci, Edith Cole and Harold Heyman as his aids completing the adminis- tration for the lanuary class. December- Candles and speeches . . . New members of the National Honor Society elected from the lanuary class were: Harold Gregory, Agnes Koleda, Hildagarde Hubert, lohn Chick, Iohn Bogdan, Frank Covelli and Mary lane Lamanna. Those from the lune class were: Angelo Sandy, Violet Bish, lean Williams, Chester Monnen, Lois Newell, Esther McClain, Rachel Katzman, lack Seigel, Helen Hewitt and Iohn Yencha . . . Food and dancing Members ot the National Honor Society held their banquet at the Y. M. C. A. Mr. Schwartz was the principal speaker. After the dinner members danced in the dining room. Apnl- Honors are here . . . Additional members ot the Iune class were honored by election to the National Honor Society. ' Patriotic Peggy Behind the footlights, bedecked in greasepaint, awaited sixteen nervous seniors on the memorable night of March 27, 1942. Everybody seemed to be wish- ing everyone else luck while A. I. Whit- aker, director, scurried about with words of encouragement. Places were taken, the house lights dimmed and the never-to-be- forgotten moment arrived. Those who will remember this night are: Mary Gonda, Ralph Dextras, Dorothy Bordoski, Sylvester Scrocco, Esther Mc- Clain, Rosemary Sheehan, Iohn Baal, Mildred Mullaney, Arthur Mascola, Iohn Paul, Pat Pavone, Rita Markovich, Kather- ine Kowalls, Iames Elder, Herman Wagner and Adele Emrich. Roberta Huish and Sarah Harrington supplied the properties, while Adele Em- rich and Rita McCarthy applied the make- up. One Wild Night Laughs, romance and adventure molded the plot of the play, One Wild Night, presented by the Ianuary seniors. The big moment which climaxed hours of practice and sleepless nights came on the evening of old Thanks! giving, November 27, l94l. Walking about hurriedly seeing that things were ready, Mr. Whitaker was the picture of an able and enthusiastic dramatic coach. The cast included Charles Hardy, Betty Lou Crum, Ioseph Barolak. Mary Farnbauer, Helen Montus, Iohn Chick, Hildagarde Hubert, Delphina Santon, Harold Heyman, Robert Bushta, Harold Gregory, Iosephine Hill, Edith Cole, Helen Hood, Anthony Pannunzio, Martin Schuller, George Berendt, and Rose Kerr.
