January Senior Play Sally's Private Earthquake written by Edwin Scribner, was presented by the lanuary class of l94U in the East High Auditorium on November 30th and 3 lst. The play, directed by Mr. Whitaker, is a comedy in three acts which centers about Sally who tries and succeeds in establishing peace and friend- ship between her father and his bitterest enemy. January National Honor Society The Ianuary National Honor Society fostered a Big Brother movement in which it attempted to give the lower classmen an incentive to complete school and to obtain membership in the society. The organization, as its social function, sponsored a banquet for the chapters of the society in this district. The banquet was the first of its kind to be held at East and was a huge success. Students of the Ianuary, 1940, class who were elected to the society are: Ioseph Baal, president: Vera Nespeca, secretary: John Schuller, treasurer: Peqgy Williams, Betty Homer, Ann Miely, Ann Bamson, Angeline Agnesi, Betty Hawkins, Gena Leone, Gladys Morris, Kenneth Davis, Louis Chudakoff, Helen Hrubiak, Iohn Puskas, Arthur Morley, and Mabel Haustovich.
