Coach Bob Timmons' squad splashed out victories in eightotits nine dual meets for an .888 winning percentage. These wins were recorded over Wichita West, Wichita North, Wyandotte, and Topeka, Coffeyville dropped the Aces in their season's opener for their only defeat of the year. In the state meet, which was held on March 5 in the West High pool, East copped second place honors among the six teams entered. During that meet, .left Farrell broke the existing state records in both the 40-yd . and 100-yd. free style events .
