Oh? Throughout our years at East, we play many roles. As subfreshmen, we are bewildered but eager to be loyal East Bears. In our freshman and sophomore years, we are caught up in a whirlwind of activities, both social and academic. Then we are upperclassmen. As juniors, we elect officers and prepare to take over the leadership of the school. When we are seniors at last, we have a great responsibility, for the rest of the school looks up to us to lead them. As our high school years go by, many of us begin to participate more fully in school activities. We become departmental and literary club members. We represent our homerooms in the Student Coun- cil and Red Cross. We develop physically by taking part in intramurals, and some of us are selected to compete on our athletic teams. But first and foremost, we are students. Although only a few of us can make the honor roll, we all benefit from the various courses offered at East. In iust a few short years, we will be alumni of East High School. We will leave it with many fond memories. We can never forget its halls, its class- rooms, and its teachers, as we can never forget our classroom discussions, our assemblies, and our parties.
