nlllllllm... Our building was expanded much since it first opened its doors. If you had taken a tour through the halls in 1927, you would have seen a basic school without the library, cafe- teria, auditorium, pool, or girls' gymnasium -without either north or south wings. The year 1933 was a big year for the school. In this year several additions were made-the library was added and opened to the public, the cafeteria was added and was a big im- provement because the halls were cleared of this activity, a gymnasium was added and the auditorium remodeled and improved to appear much the same as it appears today. 1 4. It was the year l922 that the Building Committee and other members of the Board of Education were trying to select a suitable site for a school in this part of town. The Board agreed that the R. A. Long tract on Van Rrunt Boulevard was the most desirable site. After some negotiations and concessions on the part of Mr. Long, a resolution was adopted on October 23, l923. X I 2 l L. Q 51 'E 4
