The faculty picnic is an annual affair at East High. It is held in the fall of every year for the purpose of renewing old friendships and meeting new members of the faculty, their wives and children. Several past faculty .members, including Mr. Nowlin, the first principal of East High, and Miss Emma Gilliland, teacher, were present to add to the evening’s enjoyment. Mr. Cummins had charge of the food. Fried chicken seemed to be one of the evening’s highlights. This year’s picnic was held at the home of Mr. C. O. Williams, principal. Here we see Mr. Williams and Mr. Broadlick away from the continuous bustle of ringing telephones, of students needing excuse cards signed, enjoying a delightful evening and delicious food. Page 14
