Again our senior high newspaper, the Greyhound, has com- pleted a highly successful year. The subscription campaign, as a follow-up to last year's con- test, was a battle between the males and females of our school. This was done to give the girls, who were defeated last year, a chance to prove their superiority. But, it seems that once more the boys crattily defeated the girls and EasT's second Boys' Day was declared. Two of the stalft members undertook the task of writing for the Herald's Teen Page, a weekly Friday night feature of the paper, which is devoted to informing the public of important happenings in the area schools. The entire Greyhound staff was kept busy throughout the year, not only publishing the Greyhound, but sponsoring a dance in December and a Variety Show in April. 22 l

The staff, composed of ninth grade stu- dents, has gained much valuable experience in iourn- alism and has worked hard to make this year one of the best years ever. In the fall, the editor, Robert Schneider, and the co-editor, Diane Pederson, attended the annual kick- off luncheon at Nopeming Sanitarium, this event was a press convention held prior to the T. B. drive. A special issue at Christmas time was the highlight of the eight successful issues published by this press group under the leadership of Mrs. Peterson. To raise funds for the Birch Bark, two dances were given by the staff. The Hrst was in October and the second in April. 24
