Th Helm ROW i: Lin Eckman, Secretary. ROW 2: Don lvloerhing, President: Ron Johnson, Vice-President. ROW 3: Pete Bo- man, Treasurer. The Senior High Student Council has had a busy year carrying out many activities and protects. The officers, Don Moerhing, President: Ron Johnson, Vice- President, Lin Eckman, Secretary: and Pete Boman, Treasurer, were at the helm steering the Council Through i955-56. The ad- visers were Mr. Bittner and Mr. Williams. The first project, sponsored by the Council was the annual P. T. A. membership drive. Among other protects completed during the year were the magazine drive, the Community Chest Campaign, and promoting the Brotherhood Week and Safe Driving Week Assemblies. The Council also set up executive and eligibility com- mittees to choose Junior Rotarian candidates. Red and Gray Day, highlighting the basketball season, was held on January 27. The alay's activities included the Coronation assembly and dance which followed the game. Much hard work in preparation for Red and Gray Day made it very successful. The Minnesota Association of Student Councils' Convention, held early in the year, in l-libbing, was attended by Don Moerhing and Bill Sibley. Tim Burgess, our foreign exchange student from England, also attended, and got an idea of how student govern- ments were organized and run in the United States. Many new ideas were obtained from the convention. The Council hopes to effectively use these ideas through the year and pass them on for use in Student Councils of future years.
