Conso e of the New Intercommunication System Row l, L. Shapiro, David Skaret, Donnie Phillipps, H. Zimm. Row 2, D. Davidson, R. Olsen, G. Arnold, J. Oien. The largest addition to our school this year is the new Rauland lnter-Com- munication System, secured with money earned in magazine sales. This modern educational tool has many uses. Radio programs, tape recordings and any size or speed phonograph records are some of the things that can be sent over this system. Two program channels enable us to send out two different programs to any room or number of rooms simultaneously. With two different programs going out at once, we still have a communication channel open to send out announcements. An automatic program timer enables us to record radio programs automatically at any time. Microphone outlets scattered throughout the building make it possible to record from any location in the building by moving only a microphone. An emer- gency circuit allows us to send special bulletins to the entire school even if the ignition is off and the key gone. This emergency circuit will cut out anything that may be going out to the rooms. This year's operators, with Mr. Ludden as the adviser, are: Gordon Arnold, Donald Davidson, Gilbert McDowell, John Oien, Rodney Olsen, Donald Phillipps, Leslie Shapiro, David Skaret and Howard Zimm. 6

Mr. T. W. Mitchell, Principal Our twenty-fifth anniversary will be held this year while our school continues to train and to build character and personality. Our community grows while our school serves as a wholesome training center for American ideals and citizen- ship. Our third graduating class should serve us and help us to grow as we have helped them to grow. Our measure of success will be in terms of what our graduates do. Our great wealth lies not only in our freedoms and in our American heritage, but in our fellow men and service they give to others. Society will grow only as our students and graduates grow and give in value to mankind the benefits of our schools' teachings. East High School has been accredited by the State Department of Education and evaluated by the North Central Association and extends an opportunity to every boy and girl to prepare and develop himself for college training and citi- zenship. A well-balanced personality and a trained person result from continued pursuit of high standards in conduct, scholarship, and school activities. Mr. T. W. Mitchell 8
