4.- up Forever the Anchor! As leaders in the school, these girls devote many hours to service to the school and com- munity. New members for this year were inducted in an impressive tapping ceremony before the student body. Membership is based on superior leadership and character. East High is honored by meriting an Anchor Club since only a few schools are granted charters. The Anchor Club is successfully maintaining the high standards prescribed in the charter. FIRST ROW: Sondra Glass, Jane McBride, Ginger Watts, Julie Bean, Charlotte Denton, Patsy Combs, Pam Dalton, Brenda McCoy, Prissy Albright. SECOND ROW: Joyce Lee, Charlene Lanier, Paula McKamey, Patricia Cullop, Linda Bounds, Doris Atchley, Judy Stair, Brenda Gilley, Carole Webster. THIRD ROW: Sally Hunter, Sandra Bennett, Micki Morton, Brenda Hutchison, Beverly McGee, Cindy Gross, Linda Lawson, Sara Barnard, Penny Mitchell. Car Wash Washing cars is a community service that pro- vides a Saturday of hard work as well as fun. The time and energy spent on these cars demonstrate one of the club's outstanding ob- jectives, service. Mrs. Jessie McSpadden, - Adviser The Anchor Club feels very fortunate in having Mrs. Jessie McSpadden for its ad- viser. Her love and sympathetic understanding of young people make her a well- qualified person for her position. In her advisory capacity she has helped the club develop and carry out many worth- while services as well as money raising proiects, such as soc-hops and candy sales, This club under able direction has proved itself an integral if not indispensable part of the school. Club Officers Carole Webster, Vice President, Jane Mc- Bride, Treasurery Prissy Albright, President, Brenda McCoy, Secretary, Ginger Watts and Pam Dalton, Chairmen of Ways and Means Committeeg and Linda Lawson and Paula Mc- Kamey, Junior Representatives are grouped together before a meeting of directors.
