Four of the boys-Ronnie . ' Bowman, Bruce Teasley, Larry McClain, and Alton McKissick-played at the East Tennessee Band Clinic in Oak Ridge. The Band is under the direction of Fred Dellobertis, a graduate of Chicago Musical College, who, before coming to East High, directed the Orchestra and P Band at Knoxville High for nineteen years.
