ELS C The Head Boy and Head Girl, in conjunction with Student Council, have Worked hard to make this year a good one. One objective both' Paul Weiss and Tina Walls have strived for is involvement of students. This involvement included activ- ities such as the winter carnival, the St. Valentine's Dance, the music in the halls, the information booth, and the indepth studies pro- gram. Student involvement is a difficult objective to achieve in a school as large as East, but through these various activities, Paul and Tina hope they have included the majority of the student body and made it a successful year.

N For many years East High School has been acclaime as one of the most liberal educational institutions in the city. A large part of this praise has rightfully belonged to the Delegate Assembly. Delegate Assembly consisted of one student from each class during the administrative period Whose responsibilit was to become an active part of whatever changes were needed to better East. They then reported back and forth from Delegate Assembly meetings to their respective classes. This year they have been responsible for a census involving a nine week grading system for English and social studies mini-courses, a relatively new concept at East. At the first semester's end, questions were raised as to whether or not to con- tinue Delegate Assembly, as it often seemed ineffective. Votes, however, indicated that it should be retained. As to how long Delegate Assembly can survive, only time will tell. ' d Y rn EI-- I .LS I .Ll Q I
