In addition to the excellent ef- forts of our Varsity team, and the dedicated support of the fans, there were various half-time activities, including an excellent presentation by the White jackets and the East High Marching Band. The Home- coming King and Queen, Ken Crawford and Gwen Chapman, were announced and coronated at the game. Besides being a relax- ing break from the ordinary actions of the day, Spirit Day proved to be a novel Way to contrast the changes in dress which have occurred. Most of us learned more about the cus- toms and actions of those who preceded us at East twenty years ago. It is probable that if the girls now Wore their skirts at the un- flattering length of the 50's, the boys' academic attention span would increase noticeably.

On the eerie eve of October 28th, strange shrieks were heard from the main hall of East High School. Further investigation proved that these strange sounds, along with fits of uncontrollable laughter, were a result of the famed Fall Sports Dance. This year, for the first time in seventeen years, Spotlight and Angelus sponsored a costume ball, and contrary to the recent failures, this year's dance was an obvious success. The costumes were original, the dancing Wild, and the festivity of the Halloween theme guaranteed an enjoyable time for all.
