The Annual Board of 1928 has had this primary attainment in mind and has attempted to make a book which conforms to this standard. The staff believes that pictures are better remindersjthan mere words and has, therefore, made this book -an album of photo' graphs, leaving out alllunnecessary reading- matter. Another unique feature' of this year book is the art work. All illustrations are wood cuts made by East's Art Department under the direction of Miss Estelle Stinchfleldl The theme of the art work is the superiority of human mind over matter as seen in modern development. ' ' ' The Annual Board wishes to express its deep' est appreciation to the students who have ,, given their time doing the art work and also to Mr. Oscar Marinoif, faculty sponsor, Miss Gertrude Toby, proof readerg and. to Lawrence Fisher, Lillian Hellerstein, Frances Seibert and Nellie Edwards, typists. The 1927 Angelus was awarded AllfAmerican rank in the National Annual Contest conducted by the University of Minnesota.
