Madame Crawford has been teaching students many seasons, nearly a quarter of the bicentinium. For as long as there has been an East High, and before that time, at Flat Rock High School, she taught the virtues and discipline of the French lan- guage in addition to other subjects. Students of today are generally considered to be less serious-minded than those of past years, but it is the general consensus of stu- dents that in HER classes, seriousness of pur- pose is mandatory. This is a dedication, but not so much a dedication as a farewell. No more will the students of East High hear the friendly chorus of ici in response to her daily role call. Nor will we hear in that reprimanding tone Mademoiselle or Monsieur when we have failed to measure up to the high standards expected of us. We will miss her. Merci, Madame, Merci. Dedication! 3
