MARY KAY SANDY Sweet and lovely describe Mary Kay ex- actly, and these two attributes made her a rich addition to our homecoming court this year. Her performance in the Senior Play was executed with poise and perfection. .IUDITH IRENE SAVAGE Devoted to her class and school, Judy has giren her time enthusiastically to both. A cheerleader, actress, student director, she is a handy gal to have around when therels work to he done.

SALLY STEVENS TODD Sal is a live-wire, full of mischief and imp- ish fun. A cheer-leader, she is known through- out school for her peppy spirit and per- petual smile. Iler merry laughter will ring in our ears for years to come. .JAMES ROCK TONKEL His personality makes him an idol of the underclassmenq his brawn, a leader in ath- letics. Rocky's absence the last semester left a gap not only in our Senior Class but also in the school and community. STEPHEN PALFREY TRUOG Dark and handsome describe his appearance: noble and polished, his manner: alert and active, his mind. We were glad to have Steve rejoin the class for our last year at East. PHYLLIS ANN VADER Easy to know and easier to likef' Phyllis has a special faculty for getting along with people. She has shown interest and love for taking part in the activities of the music department. JOHN DAVID VANDER VEEN Take talent and ability. add a nonchalant attitude and smile, and you have lJob. Found on committees and athletic teams all year, Dave represents the spirit at East. DAVID GINRICH VER SLUIS Carefree. unconcerned, and alwavs looking on the brighter side of life, Jules is a well-known member of our class. His great agility as a water skiier will make it pos- sible for him to reach the top in that field. JAMES BARTON VOCT lim was an indispensable man behind scenes as both stage manager of our Senior Play and chairman of our Senior dance. His con- sideration and even temperament go well with that c-a-sual manner and appearance. WILLIAM RICHARD WARING With his unassuming manner and quiet sense of humor, Bill forever seems to be enjoying life to the utmost. His fleetness of foot has been an essential addition to bolh the track and cross country teams. LAURENCE EDWIN WHITE Larry has skillfully guided the class of '56 through its busiest and most difficult year. He is an admirable example of a leader, a scholar, and an athlete molded into one man. EDWIN LEE WIERSTRA Although Ed's voice may not be heard much in the halls or the classroom, it booms forth as a powerful bass when he sings.
