JD ANN MDNGRR The sparkle and zest of ,Io's personality will remain long unequaled throughout the halls of East High. We recognized her all-around abilities by placing her at the head of our homecoming court. MAUREEN KAY IVIDNIQUE When the band is marching, Kay can be found in front of it as a drum majoretteg when it isn't, she can still be found among its ranks as oboeist. She is as luusical as she is nice. EI I FN JFAN MDSER lfllen truly has a heart of gold. Her patience and understanding are surpassed only by her sincere interest in the welfare of others. Her beauty is not just skin deep. SUSAN JANE MUIR How can one so small hare so much strength, energy, and ability? Suzie's love for activity is constant: her capacity for fun, unlimited: and her ability to be sporlsmanlike, endless. JDH N WAT'l'ERS DUST! NG DONALD 0'DELI. For Don, life is too short to waste. He keeps jumping from one thing to the next, never lingering in one place for rery long. Quiet determination is lack's rnottratutg force both in and out of the swimming pool. Through his lore for Western life and nroughing it, he will remain a true Pion- eern long after his departure from East. MARFARE I' MARY DSIER luely and energetic, Peg is a crowd favor- ite, for laughter emanates from her very presence. You never can tell when or where her prankish exuberance will burst SANDRA LEE DTTO With the poise of an actress and voice of an angel, Sandy will walk the road of success and sing her way into ereryone's heart. She has firmly supported the music department throughout high school. l HAHL I ORDDN DVIATT Charl proves the saying small but mighty as a freestyler for the swimming team. A diligent and persistent boy scout, he has attained the rank of assistant scout-master. RILHARD OWEN I'l','l'RlCK Although Dick is mechanically minded and derives enjoyment and satisfaction doing work along that line, his interests are not confined to it. His membership in Wald and Weg and the band tell us that. 25

JOAN KAY LYKE MARLENE LOUISE MEYER , ,G NORMAN K ORN KRAVITZ Norm never ceases to volunteer his services to a worthy cause, and he can usually be found wherever there's work to be done. He is nimble even when he isn't swim- ming, playing tennis, or running cross country. W ILLIAM JOHN LEE Highly regarded for his moderation and tolerance, Bill, calm and composed, can handle any situation that requires thought and reason. Undoubtedly these attributes had much to do with his success as swim- rn ing manager. JUDITH M ERLE LIBERMAN All sixty-one inches of ludy are packed with fun and friendliness, which she shares with everyone. When you need her, she is '6Miss Johnny-on-the-spot. JUNE EVON LICENCE june does a lot behind the scenes, and the class of ,56 is sincerely grateful for her ef- forts expended in our behalf. It was only through her indomitable will that the Senior c . l'lay was given. JEAN RAE LYKE .Always courteous, she readily co-operates with her fellow classmates and members of Future Nurses. A nice thing about jean is that there is another like her! ,loan's graciousness and affability haze con vinced us that two Lykes are better than one. Although she held a responsible office posi- tion, she still found time to maintain an active interest in school activities. WILLIAM SIBERT MARTENS JR. The men the uvorld never forgets are those who serve their fellow men. lf this is true, Si need never be forgotten, for he has spent endless hours working back-stage and help- ing in the library. TRUE ELIZABETH MC DONALD She is True not only in name, but also in nature. A music-lover, True has been in- valuable to the music department as an ac- companist. As president, she has led Club '56 over many difficult paths. IRENE RUTH MC PARLAN A pretty smile, a tall, slender figure, and a refreshing personality all add up to Renee. A touch of sophistication gave her a part in our Senior Play, and a touch of initiative made her an active member of F.'l'.A. Especially active in the musical realm o school life, Marlene has belonged to both the Glee Club and the Mixed Chorus. How- ever, membership in l'i-Aqua-Neers shows that her interests are not confined entirely to music. 2-14
