The Junior Horizon Club met every Wednesday
noon in the grade school art room. Nlany members
served as hospital aides for two hours on one after-
noon each week at lllodgett Hospital or Convalescent
Home. doing such work as carrying trays. reading
to children. filling water glasses. writing letters, and
feeding patients. They added to the joy of Christmas
The Sophomore Horizon Club. which was sponsored
by Mrs. Walker. held meetings every Thursday noon
in the art room of the grade school. The members of
this group serve as hospital aides, performing the
same duties as the Juniors. The girls had a potluck
in the home of Mrs. Walker before they attended
the party given by the student nurses of lilodgett
Hospital for the aides on February 17. They co-

for a poor family of five and made bibs for the
nursery schools for children of war-workers. The
officers elected were Joan Chamberlin. president:
Joan Rankin. vice-president: Mary Ellen Brown.
secretary: and Rosemary Roberts, treasurer. Mrs.
Robert Ames advised the group.
operated with the older group in sponsoring a dance.
The Heart Throbv. on February ll. the proceeds
from which were given to charity. They also made
bibs for the nurseries. The officers of the Sophomore

The '4Flintlock . in addition to being the vital
organ for distributing news around school. has
assumed an important role as the center for exchange
of information among our former students now in
the armed forces. Every issue is mailed to all our

The Junior Red Cross began a successful year by
attaining 10092 membership in the October roll call,
The intramural Basketball Tournaments contributed
funds in addition to profits from doughnut sales
and the annual cookie sale. The girls sewed on
slippers. utility bags. and solitaire covers. while the
shop classes made shoe-shine stands and hed tables.

Ex ery morning before school the home-room war
stamp and bond representatives went to Miss Post-
mus' room to get their stamps for the day. Then.
during morning roll-call. they distributed the stamps
and reminded delinquents to bring their money.
Stamps were sold also in the lower hall at noon by
