He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand-one belonging to him and the other to the Lord. When the last scene flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints and noticed that many times along the path there was only one set of footprints in the sand. He also noted that this happened during the lowest and saddest times of his life. This really bothered him, and he questioned the Lord. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way, but l noticed that during the most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you deserted me." The Lord replied, "My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering when you only see one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you." -Author Unknown FOLLOW HIS STEPS THROUGH THE EQUESTRIAN GPENING 4- FACULTY S- 16 STUDENT LIFE 17- 24 SPGRTS 25- 34 CLUBS AND URGANIZATIUNS 35- 52 CLASSES 53- 76 ADVERTISEMENTS 84-END lcf fl " Hi. Blackmon Jr., in appreciation of his diligent labor and the dedication he has given to the production of the year- book for the past five years. Looking into his past, Andrew Blackmon was born in Raleigh, Missis- sippi. As a child he moved to Mize, Mis- sissippi, attended the public schools and graduated in 1971. After high school he attended Lee College and received a B.A. degree in Biblical Education in 1975. Since graduating from Lee Col- lege Mr. Blackmon has earned a Masters degree in Christian Education from Re- formed Seminary in Jackson, Mississip- pi and is currently enrolled in an Educa- tional Specialist program at the Univer- sity of North Carolina at Charlotte. As a student at Lee College, Mr. Blackmon met his wife to be, Patricia. They were married on December 30, 1973. The Blackmons have one child, Brad, who was born in Jackson, Missis- sippi, on February 11, 1976. In conclusion, we the 1983-84 Equestrian staff, wish to again express our sincere appreciation to Mr. Black- mon, and we hope to have the opportu- nity to work under his leadership in the future. n 9 S STUDENTS STRIVED TO FOLLOW CHRIST'S FOOTSTEPS IN WORSHIP The word "worship" comes from the Old English "worth-ship," and is simply the act of giving credit where it is due. It is to Christ that credit must be given. Since He gave His life for us, worshiping Him is our reasonable service. ECBC students strived to follow Christ in worship just as He gave all worship to the Father while on earth. Q.. Top . . . Dean Oxendine heeded the call of the Spirit during chapel service. Center left . . . students responded to a move of the Spirit. Center right . . . students and faculty worshipped together. Bottom . . . a time of fellowship. 5 STUDENTS STRIVED TO FOLLOW CHRIST'S FOOTSTEPS IN THEIR WITNESS Christ's mission on earth was to bring people to know God. Being the perfect Man, powered by the Holy Spirit, His witness was the people that had their sins forgiven, those who were healed, and those who gladly found the Scriptures fulfilled, to name a few. Jesus wanted us to do the same, as He said, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." ECBC students followed His will through the many ministry- oriented clubs on campus. 1 V ,. 1 Fa 1 l Top . . . Mike Braden, president of the 1983-84 Ministerial Association, challenged a part of the family of God to be witnesses for Christ. Left . . . A weary Clint Mason rested during E.C.B.C.'s "Work Day." Two important things He did continually were to devotion to the Lord, and had times of personal prayer and devotion. 5L'I1UUL BUS . K . k - - Top . . .
