Classroom Quests Election year '68 was a high point of inter- est for Social Studies teachers as they continued to stress a good, well-informed citizenship in turbulent times. ln addition to history and government classes, the staff introduced two new sociology courses, the aim of which is to seek solu- tions to social problems that plague con- temporary society: civil strife and urban renewal. Under the guidance of Mr. O. D. Bell, department chairman, staff mem- bers directed studies which covered open housing, minority problems, primaries, general elections, political conventions, the electoral college, and voting age surveys. Social Studies Relates our lives to a broad heritage.
