ECHO 1966 EDUCATION IS A LIFE-LONG PROCESS OF BECOMING” Table of Contents Faculty and Administration 5 Seniors 17 Juniors 31 Sophomores 37 Freshmen 43 Sports 49 Jr. High 69 Royalty 79 Activities 83 3 Then said a rich man, Speak to us of Giving. And he answered: You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. For what are your possessions but things you keep and guard for fear you may need them tomorrow? And tomorrow, what shall tomorrow bring to the overprudent dog burying bones in the trackless sand as he follows the pilgrims to the holy city? And what is fear of need but need it-self? Is not dread of thirst when your well is full, the thirst that is unquenchable? There are those who give little of the much which they have - -and they give it for recognition and their hidden desire makes their gifts unwholesome. And there are those who have little and give it all. These are the believers in life and the bounty of life, and their coffer is never empty. There are those who give with joy, and that joy is their reward. And there are those who give with pain, and that pain is their baptism. Afid there are those who give and know not pain in giving, nor do they seek joy, nor give with mindfulness of virture; They give as in yonder valley the myrtle breathes its fragrance into space. Through the hands of such as these God speaks, and from behind their eyes He smiles upon the earth. If you’re about to enter your senior year, there’s a good chance it will... but you must remain in school, and earn a high school diploma. Who says so? The U.S. Census Bureau. Its figures show graduates earn about $35,000 more before they retire than those who drop out in the first three years. Sure, a diploma’s no guarantee of a good job. But personnel managers do ask themselves: If he didn’t finish high school, how do I know he'll stick it out here.” Remember. Unemployment among dropouts is twice that of the general popu- lation. And dropouts stay unemployed longer! Yet, despite these disturbing statistics, three of ten high school students leave without diplomas. Some 750,000 high school students will quit next year. Can you afford to be one of them? The Timken Roller Bearing Company, Canton, Ohio.
