Under the able supervision of Mr. Donald Halter the presentation was a tremendous success. The play in it's entirety took place in an Illinois Courtroom at the trial of Maxine Lowe, who was accused of having killed her husband, Daniel Lowe. As each witness was called to the stand, new excitement and suspense was in store for the audience. The male leads were played by Wayne Bowker as the prosecuting attorney and Lee Herrington as the defense attorney. Female leads were portrayed by Roberta Davis and Sylvia Brozic. Others in the C21St included Carol Gray, Donna Workman, Sandra McClellan, Kathy Mitchell, Rebecca Gardner, Martha Barnes, jack Martin, Leonard Talbott, Gary Sagerman, Dean Rothacher, David Robinson, Dick Baker, Bob Eaton, and David Mair. Douglas. The play told of the incidents leading up to the crucifiction of Christ and the torture of a man's soul following. After many long rehearsals and hours of preparation, Mr. Donald Halter again lead us through a very successful performance. To heighten the effect, the choral department sang The Holy City before and after the play while a huge cross stood in blue lights on the stage. A special note of thanks also to Mrs. Jeannette Ryder for her splendid job in the costuming department. The feminine lead was played by Karen Prince, while that of the boy's was played the first night of the performance by Wayne Bowker and the second night by jack Martin. Those completing the cast were Roberta Davis, Carol Gray, jane Watkins, Donna Workman, Shirley Sautters, Sylvia Brozic, Shirley Emerick, Lucy Moulin, Joanne Barnes, Ray Karp, Ralph McAdow, Dick Baker, Gary Sagerman, Lee Herrington, Marvin Denison, Dan Moser, Bob Eaton, and David Mair. Nobody can stop you from crossing state lines, choosing your own job. In America you have a right to work anywhere you please. Lots of people in other countries wish they had this same freedom. If you lived behind the Iron Curtain-or under that kind of government-you'd be expendable manpower, nothing else. You'd work where you were told to work, at any job the state said you should do. You'd have no choice. You couldn't hope for better working conditions, criticize the boss, or pick up and leave. You know. . . it's really something, this freedom to work heritage, part of being an the shudders to realize that where you please. It's a precious American. And doesn't it give you there are people who'd like to take this right-put us all under Iron Curtain working conditions? I.et's not let it happen... Keep your rights, all of them, including this one.
