CLASS HISTORY At last the big day which the eighty-three members of the nineteen hundred and fifty-two Freshman Class had been eagerly awaiting finally arrived. We now en- tered a new and memorable phase of our lives. We began our high school career ably assisted by our three sponsors, Mrs. Smith, Mr. Rohrer, and Mr. Schafer. Our class enrollment this year was as follows: Richard Metzger, Don Brunner, Jack Cross, Joe Faur, Willy Eakin, Ramon Fornasiero, Leroy King, Larry Hemphill, George Ledbetter, Richard Nelson, Fred Mil- ler, Dick Rohrbaugh, Larry Morris, Bob Myers, Bob Newhart, Bill West, Glen Royer, John Vincent, William Ramage, Nelda Anderson, Edna Becker, Ruth Brown, Nan Henderson, Ruth Canter, Irene Dobransky, Ann Henderson, Luetta Hardie, Genevieve Hicks, Wilma Howell, Ruth Klotz, Lois Kinsinger, Etta Lawhun, Grace Mark, Marlene Linder, Shirley Maurer, Ruth Ann Craw- ford, Lucille Miller, Shirley Nordick, Barbara Novosel, Mildred Novosel, Carolyn Shepherd, Carol Ritchey, Carol Rothacher, Nancy Shepherd, Janet Stertzbach, Virginia Stephonic, Vilda Slabaugh, Eileen Westfall, Erleen Westfall, Barbara Carl, Nancy Eakin, Sharon Hoskinson, Patsy Jones, Ruth Marhover, Beverly Mor- ris, Rose Mary Moulin, Betty Rohrer, Doris Thoma, Betty Watkins, Richard Barrick, Bob Clark, Teddy Crank, Thurlow Schwartz, John Doll, David Foltz, Jack Jones, Joe Mucha, Kenny Richards, Joe Mair, Bob Lewis, Gene Maurer, Jack Meiser, Dale Oberly, Richard Oberster, Paul Welsh, Bill Wheatly, Bob Unkefer, Paul Rope, and Jim Zimmerman. As our class officers we elected: President, Barbara Carl, Vice President, Dale Oberly, Secretary, Patsy Jones, Treasurer, Sharon Hoskinson. Our class project this year was collecting tax stamps. Twelve months had gone by and then we were Sophomores with Mr. Heckaman and Mr. Monda as our sponsors. Our class enrollment this year was seventy- seven with a loss of Leroy King, William Ramage, Edna Becker, Ruth Brown, Luetta Hardie, Wilma Howell, Genevieve Hicks, Lucille Miller, Shirley Nordick, Vilda Slabaugh, Thurlow Schwartz, Gene Maurer, Betty Wat- kins, and a gain of Gary Feiock, Marcella McCauslin, Dorothy Williams, Norman Lindemood, Mary Pfleger, Frances Malone, and Charles Blair. For our class officers this year we chose Dale Ober- ly, President, Barbara Carl, Vice President, Dick Bar- rick, Treasurer, and Rose Mary Moulin, Secretary. Our money making projects for the year were collecting tax stamps and selling wool socks. Our Junior sponsors were Mrs. Koenig and Mr. Heckaman. At our first class meeting Dick Barrick was elected President of our class with Dale Oberly as Vice President, Rose Mary Moulin as Secretary, and Betty Rohrer as Treasurer. This year we were sorry to lose Teddy Crank, Bob Clark, Larry Hemphill, Bob Lewis, Jack Jones, Larry Norris, Kenny Richards, Bill Wheatly, Irene Dobransky, Patsy Jones, and Ruth Klotz. But we were glad to gain Norman Metzger, Carl Spoon, Sarah Logsdon, Ray Douglas, and Betty Brown. The big events of the year for us were sponsoring the Junior-Senior Prom which we held at the Shady Hollow Country Club, and the receiving of our class rings. To increase our class funds we sold magazines, license brackets, bumper seals and candy. We also pre- sented our class play entitled PROFESSOR, HOW COULD YOU?, a three act comedy. The last and greatest of our school years had be- gun, for we were now Seniors. Mildred Novosel, Nan- cy Shepherd, Shirley Maurer, Bob Myers, Ray Douglas, and Gary Feiock had left us this year, but we were happy to gain Mary Pfleger. We had as our sponsor for the year Miss Robert- son. Dick Barrick, President, Charles Blair, Vice Pres- ident, Rose Mary Moulin, Secretary, and Betty Rohrer, Treasurer, were our class officers. Highlights of the year were the presentation of our class play, JUMPING JEWELS, the publication of the 1956 ECHO, our class trip to Washington, D.C., and the Prom, and as a result of these twelve years, our graduation. To complete our class treasury, we sold candy, necklaces, Christmas cards, and vanilla. Baccalaureate and Commencement services were conducted in the high school auditorium May 20 and 24 respectively. I am sure that each of our hearts grow a little sadder as we realize that the time has come to say good-by to our friends here at ECHS, but we will never forget them or the fine memories which they have helped us to form. This phase of our life has ended, but we now face a new and greater one. Vlomvteumg,
