A yearbook is a history, a diary, and a mem- ory book. It is one year . . . captured in story and picture. It represents all the games, dances, plays, and assemblies of the school year. This year, the theme is student life and student memories. Time is the basic principle. Putting out a yearbook is a tremendous re- sponsibility, as there are many phases in yearbook production. Without a reliable staff, little con be accomplished. Each per- son is assigned his particular job, which he must do to keep the chain moving. There ore layouts to be made, pictures to be taken, and identification, copy, typing, and index- In gto be done. The art work and cover de- sign must be worked out and submitted. Accounts must be kept and advertisements brought in. Later, galleys and blueprints must be corrected. All in all, the staff is kept busy throughout the school year in order to bring back to the Student Body a book of which they can be proud. Yet, all this cannot be accomplished without capable and patient advisors. The Sierran Staff feels extremely lucky to have Mr. Robert Otto and Mr. Charles Flanagan as its ad- visors. Together they were the backbone of the staff, seeing that each deadline was met, and all problems were settled with the least amount of trouble. This year the Sierran takes you back over the school year, spotlighting the various school events which make up the 1959-1960 school calendar.
