, W ,, n KYB. GAA The purpose of the Girls' Athletic Association was to teach sportsmanship and to encourage the spirit of fair play. Activities of the 1968-69 season included basketball, volleyball, and badminton playdays. GAA also refer- eed junior high volleyball games. An important event was the popular Powderpuff Football game held during the Thunderbird Dinner. GAA finished the year with the Mother-Daughter Banquet at which participation awards were given. 1,1 A f.. Legend The LEGEND, a book composed of an entire year of school life, portrayed pictures of various happenings and emotions felt by students of East. Members of the staff were specially selected on the basis of grades and work ability. Undertaking this project was a big responsibility, for each person realized that a great amount of work and extra time was involved. ln addition to the annual, the staff published a magazine which illustrated literary ability from students at East.
