Fencing Club Fencing Club, a newly-formed organization, helped to promote good sportsmanship throughout the year. Under the guidance of Mrs. Percy Eggert and Mr. Kirke Muse, the team underwent training in the sport. The club acquired the basic art and skills of fencing so that it could enter into competion with Alaska Methodist University. At the Thunderbird Dinner, the members demonstrated the stances and movements which they had learned. Officers David Lappi, president, Brenda Johnson, secretary, and Rick Hood, sergeant at arms, discuss plans for an upcoming match. Not pictured is Edward Allen, vice-president. Membership was awarded to active Thespians who have compiled a sufficient number of drama points. The elected officers of Thespians were Jeannie Woodring, president: Debbie Bale, vice-president, Kathleen Ross, secretary: Vicki Dunnaway, treasurer, and Gloriette Thompson, clerk. Included in the program this year was the Readers' Theatre. This group was established for the purpose of helping members to develop dramatic reading skills.

Moth Club The Math Club promoted fellowship among students and further stimulated their interest in topics not included in the regular course. To qualify students had to be in their second year of study and have a B average in mathematics. Members with a B plus average were eligible to be full members and to belong to 'Mu Alpha Theta, a national mathematical club. The club welcomed back old members and initiated new members on November 25. As a yearly program, the club again sponsored the Math Association of America contest in the spring. The students were encouraged to particiapate in preparing for the contest.
