Our Student Council is organized to represent every activity. Each . class chooses two representatives. One is the president of the class and the other is elected in the middle of the year. Y-Teens and F. F.A. are evenly represented, also Band, boys and girls athletics. 6 Electing our Student Council president was fun. Each class had a candidate. One period was set aside to hear campaign speeches and prom- enade candidates. The election was held in the gym. Bill Young was chosen president for the year, and those selected for his cabinet were: Vice-President-Dick D. Duff, Secretary-Dixie Wright, Treasurer-Larry Spencer, for the first semester. During the second semester the Vice- Presidency and Treasurer changed to Glen Ramsey and Elaine Welch re- spectively. The Student Council has charge of many activities. In October the council sponsored the Homecoming parade and dance. Miss Sandra Comp- ton was chosen our queen and crowned at the dance. Her attendants were: Judy Moore, Susan Welch, Glenna Smith, and Shirley Blackburn. Also our council sent four representatives to the Northern Association of Student Councils. They were: Glenna Smith, Virginia Spillers, Glen Ramsey, and Ron Branam, As it is our custom the council sponsored the Christmas dance. This dance was a very special one as it was dedicated to Mrs. Fred Hunter, who helped to establish our present dance club. In addition to these activ- ities our council sponsored the chapel services. Each Monday morning we brought different ministers to speak to the student body. k Stanley, We are proud that our student council is one of the most active in and Chuc the state. b U .
