Cux Aquilae Presented by EAGLE HIGH ANNUAL STAFF of 1959 Zable of Contents Dedication Administration Faculty Seniors Juniors Sophomores foreword As one year fades away and the next begins, another class has graduated. But will high school days be left behind and forgotten? The 1959 Lux Aquilae was printed in order that we may always be able to look back and recollect the happy, carefree, and yet busy hours we have spent in E. H. S., to see at a glance our classmates, friends, and teachers, and to keep in our hearts the many fond memories of days gone by. We hope we have preserved for you the high-lights of the year's events which will ever bring to your remembrance your school days and friends of E.H.S. Freshmen Elementary Athletics Favorites Organizations Activities To one who has given many hours to educational improve- ment in this county, to one who has given us much help and encouragement in our undertakings, and to one who has been a good friend to all of us; we, the 1959 Staff of Lux Aquilae, dedicate this annual to--Mrs. Jeanette Buchholz. Superintendent ’$ Message After decades of service to the community and her citi- zens, Eagle High School will cease to exist at the end of the present school year, and it is inevitable that all of us should feel a bit of sadness. Generations of successful graduates at- test to the excellence of her programs. Yet we must direct our eyes not to the past, but to the future. We must think not of what our community is losing, but rather of the broader educational opportunities which can thus be made available to boys and girls in the years to come. It has been a privilege to serve as superintendent of the Eagle School for the past two years. 1 wish all of you happi- ness and success for all the years that lie ahead. J. E. Out of that first grade class only Judy Smith remains. Our grade school years were eventful ones and at last we reached the first plateau, eighth grade graduation. Those graduating from the eighth grade in the spring of 1955 were as follows: Judy Smith, Rosanne Puff, Kay Neumann, Patty Marks, Beth Terrill, Carolyn Brady, Darrell Pinkerton, and Bobby Watson. In the fall of 1955, our class embarked on their high school careers. Like all the Freshman classes before, our aim was to set the world on fixe. Our views were quickly doused the day of Freshman Initiation. Since we didn't have any boys in our class, the girls went all out in extracurricular activities. Judy Smith, Kay Neuman, and Rosanne Puff participated as cheerleaders. The whole class generously gave their time to all our class activities. During our Junior year we presented the Junior Play and the Jun- ior-Senior Prom and Banquet. During our Senior year we gave the Senior Play, Hessie of the Hills, and went on Sneak Day. We are now ready to take our places in the world. We feel we are ready to face the future with great success and go Onward and Up- ward. Those completing and being rewarded with their graduation diplomas are as follows: Judy Smith, Kay Neumann, Rosanne Puff, Patty Marks, Beth Terrill and Barry Koch.
