Prophecy The year is 1976. I have boarded my old high school ship, the U.S.S. Eagle High School. As I lean on the rail, staring into the deep blue water, I think of how all my old classmates have made success and fame. Buddy Harrison sketches for Moon Ships Inc. and his wish for being rich is fulfilled. World peace has been achieved, at last, through the leadership of John Buchholz, Secretary-General of United Nations. Audrey Metheny is an electronic telephone operator. She works a device that dials billions of numbers a minute automatically. Gary Lieber is piloting space ships. His regular run is from Earth to Venus. Bill Mathey is top comedian in his own show on Actualvision. The show is a lavish, colossal, evening program. Laughter from an upper deck brings me back to the present. I glance at my watch and I see it is time again for me to leave the U.S.S. Eagle High School to be in Rome where I am currently singing at the Pompeii Club. I take my leave with a warm feeling of memories. We, Seniors of 1956, of the city and county of Eagle, state of Colorado, being of sound and disposing mind and not acting under menace, fraud, or undue influence of any person whatsoever, do make, publish and declare this our Last Will and Testament. FIRST; To the Freshman class, we will the Senior boys. (Bill Matney is willing to stay, girls.) SECOND: To the Juniors and Sophomores, we will the reflection of our sparkling personalities. THIRD: I, Buddy Harrison, will my ability in typing to Bruce Eaton. FOURTH: I, John Buchholz, will my get-up-and-go to Maureen Barz. FIFTH: I, Billy Matney, will my matching ensembles of shirts and socks to Cristina Zavala. SIXTH: I, Audrey Metheny, will my position as assistant-executive in the office to Don McLain. SEVENTH: I, Faye Chadwick, will my tighter’n' heck bathing suit to Paul Luby. EIGHTH: I, Gary Lieber, will my outstanding grade average to Donna Louise Chambers. Faye Chadwick Will Senior Class of '56 Compliments of EAGLE LAKE GAS COMPANY

Class History Request permission to come aboard, sir. With a class of ten students we embarked on our high school voyage. We chose Betty Cook for President; Mary Pender, Vice President; Bill Matney, Secretary-Treasurer; John Buchholz, Student Council Representative; and Myrna Frances for Cheerleader. To make us accepted as seasoned seamen, we were initiated by the old Sophomore Salts. Typhoons washed overboard three crewmen the second year. Our maiden voyage gave us seniority to initiate the new recruits aboard the U. S. S. Eagle High School. Our officers were: John Buchholz, President; Audrey Metheny, Vice President; Mary Pender, Secretary-Treasurer; Bill Matney, Student Council Representative; and Betty Cook as Cheerleader. On the Isthmus of Junior year, we anchored. To get things ship-shape, we gave each crew member an office. Bill Matney, Captain; Gary Lieber, First Mate; John Buchholz, Purser; Buddy Harrison, Personnel Officer, and Audrey Metheny as Boatswain's Mate. While on the Isthmus, we gave our play, May All The Lights Be Green . We swabbed the decks and decorated the ship from stem to stern for the Prom. The Ceremonious occasion was in honor of retiring seamen of the U.S.S. Eagle High School. On our final voyage we look back on our travel. Although is wasn't always smooth sailing, our memories are made of this. We elected for our leaders: Buddy Harrison, Captain; Audrey Metheny, First Mate; Bill Matney, Purser; John Buchholz, Personnel Officer; and Faye Chadwick, Boatswain's Mate. As we anchor from the Senior Voyage, we look forward to the Banquet and Prom to be given in our honor and the sneak trip to the Unknown Isle; also commencement night, when we receive our diplomas and walk down the gangplank of the U.S.S. Eagle High School for the last time.
