SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1942, the Class of 1954 enrolled in the first grade. Out of that first grade class only George Smith, Shirley Chambers and Zanada Russell remain. Our grade years were eventful ones and at last we reached the ultimate goal, eighth grade graduation. Those graduating from the eighth grade in the spring of 1950 were as follows: Beverly Matney, Myrle Cook, Judy Rule, Shirley Chambers, Zanada Russell, Georgia Harrison, Lebert Cooper. Ike Cowden, George Smith, Jim Ross, Bob Trezise and Bob Stanley. In the fall of 1950, our class, twelve strong, embarked on their high school careen. Entering as we did, like most Freshmen, our aim was to set the world on fire, not only with high academic achievements, but by participating in all extra-curricular activities as well. Yes, our destiny was set. In these endeavors we have not been without our share of success. Ike Cowden, George Smith and Jim Ross have all been active in ath- letics during their high school years; others who offered their bit to the success of Eagle teams have been Bob Stanley, Arnold Marks and Lebert Cooper. Many of the original girls in the class are gone. Only two remain, Shirley Cham- bers and Zanada Russell. Both have been very active in Chorus and Pep Club activities and have participated as cheerleaders. Shirley has been very active in band activities during her high school career. Bob Trezise, while not participating in athletics, has more than made a success of his musical ability. He has willingly given his time and talents to the success of the class and other school activities in this manner. As we became of age, we began to accept more and more responsibility. During our Junior year we presented the Junior Play, Up To Your Ears, followed by the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. When the Senior year came, we gave the Senior Play, The Million Heir, published the LUX AQUILAE, went on Sneak Day, and finally, the Seniors sponsored an All-School Party. We are now ready to take our places in the world of experience, confident, will- ing and optimistic. Those completing the long journey through school and being rewarded with their graduation diplomas are as follows: Jim Ross, George Smith, Shirley Chambers, Lebert Cooper, Bob Trezise, Zanada Russell, Ike Cowden, Arnold Marks and Bob Stanley. -—---—George Smith Congratulations To The Seniors of 1954 MR. and MRS. CHARLES A. STANLEY
