I feel you can't always judge the season by the won loss column as some years the schedule is tougher than others. I like to judge the success of the season by the performance and attitude of the team members. The desire, cooperation and attitude of this years team was great. The assistant coaches, Mr. DeVaughn and Mr. Trousdale, were also very cooperative and helpful throughout the season. The team never lost its pride regardless of the number of losses and came back to win the final game 20-0. It was a good way to end the season plus it is a good start for the 1975 football season. Glenda Bright---Homecoming Queen—1975 Homecoming Princess's and Escorts, G Bright and J. Weirch, F. Dunlap and S. Lujan, M. Laird and K. Frazee! Homecoming Attendants and Escorts, J. Weirch and D. Jacobs, R. Stoker, and P. Zimmerman, M. Weirch and N. Watts! On Sept. 13, 1974, the home- coming half time performance turned out to be a great success. Our 1975 Homecoming Queen was Glenda Bright!! Jl omecomincj. Activities The E.H.S. Bonfire lights up as we get ready for the Homecoming Activities!!!! Dig it!!! She's not that funny is she???? What's the big joke!!! September 12, 1974 was the night of the E.H.S. Bonfire and Pep rally. It was a cold and chilly night but it turned out to be a great success!!! Hey man. What you guys looking at? (Al, we know what your looking at). Glen Davis and Al Seibel were captains of our Homecoming game. Mr, Crawford head football coach, gives thoughts of the up coming game with Cheyenne Wells Aren't you guys sup- pose to be in training. Good Golly Miss Molly!:! Saving gas!!! C.W. Eads 12 - 7 Cheyenne Wells spoiled the Eagles home- coming as they scored a pair of touchdowns to take a 12-7 victory home with them. The first quarter was scoreless for both teams as they tested out each others defense. The second period saw Cheyenne Wells take a 6-0 lead into the locker room. During the third quarter Eads got on the board as Brent Frazee hit Jerry Weirich on a 4 yd. pass late in the quarter, and A1 Seibel booted the extra points. The Eagles looked as if they were headed to victory, but luck went with the Tigers, as on a third to go from their own 35 they went to the air. The pass looked like it would be intercepted but it bounced off the shoulder of an Eagle defender right into the hands of the intended receiver. Then seconds later a personal foul tabbed against the Eagles put the ball on the Eagle 19, and on the next play Cheyenne Wells ran the ball over the right side of the Eagle line and several missed tackles allowed the winning touchdown. Congratulations Mom, your daughter just won a letter in football!! 974 The 1971 Powder Puff Football Game ended in a victory, for the Foxy Chicks. It started when Delinda Eikenberg kicked off to the Hell's Angels. A very tough defense stopped the Angels i.. plays. Natalie Watts then punted to Nikki Igou which resulted in a 67-yard punt return and the first score of the night, hesu Lester ran up the middle for two extra points. The Angels were unable to sustain a drive so the Chicks got the ball back and moved downfield before Nikki Igou scampered nine yards for the score. A tough Defense stopped the Angels through- out the night. The Chicks scored their third touchdown of the night when Lesa Lester scooted in from 2-yards out. The excite- ment bagan as the half drew near when Delinda Eikenberg kicked off. Konda McKnight took the ball and went 72-yards for the first touchdown for the Angels. When the half ended the score read 20-6 for the Chicks. Half-time activities were high-lighted by the crowning of the Powder Puff King, Jerry Weirich. It was also high-lighted by the Foxy Chicks' Cheerleaders. They amused the fans of both teams with their unusual band performance. The second half pace was slowed down considerably by the stiffening of both defenses. The final score of the game came in the last quarter by Nikki Igou on a U-yard run. The Angels came back and gave the Chicks a scare in the final moments, but the Chicks hung tight and won 26-6. ...printed by permission of the EAGLE staff Belinda Eikenberg. The Junior Varsity Basketball Team had a great season losing only one game by one point. The team had great balance and depth with all the players getting alot of action. The depth of the ball team was a big factor in developing the individuals as they had to fight for a starting position. It was a great experience in coaching and I congratulate the team members for their hustle, desire, and patience. I definitely feel we have alot of champions who will be great assets to the varsity next season. The biggest accomplish- ment for these men was winning the Class A State Championship. These men, by dedicating themselves throughout the season, finally reached the ultimate goal in high school basketball—STATE CHAMPS! There were a few disappointments during the year which were due to injuries and a period of staleness,, however with great attitudes and desire, these men strived for perfection, which is the key to success! This year's team was blessed with great individuals; but more important they molded as a team Seniors. Undoubtedly, Glen Davis and David McBee will go on to college level basketball. Both are exceptional ball players and should have good college careers. Jerry Weirich was also a great asset to the team not only in ability but also in leadership. Stuart Lujan and Mike Jacobs were good in- dividuals to have coming off the bench all season. Junior8. Mike Weirich who in my estimation has as much talent as any player Eads has ever produced—if he uses it—will be back next year as one of the leaders. Brent Stoker, who did a tremendous Job this year at guard, will be back with his tough defense and excellent outside shooting. David Stavely, who was our team's sixth man most of the year, will be back with his poise and enthusiasm. Also, Kent Stoker with his sound overall play will also be a plus to next year's efforts. Frank Miller, who received a lot of experience on the JV's improved a great deal by the end of the season. Sophomores. Donnie Kelley, Donald Oswald, and Mark Forsyth show great potential for next year. In closing I would like to thank Coach Gail Crawford for his assistance this season and all the people of Eads for their faithful support. This was a young team with only four seniors. The team showed good spirit and continuous improvement throughout the season. Two new school records and three meet records were set during the year. Mike Weirich and Mike Jacobs obtained places in the State meet. The results of this season indicate the possibility of contender teams in the future.
