Emmons, USN is a native of .Meridian, Mississippi and graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy December 19, 1941. His first tour of duty was spent aboard the U. 'S. S. TEXAS .CBB-351 Where he served from January 1942 until August 1945. During this time he was a Junior Dlvision Oflicer, Turret Ofiicer, Electrical Oiiicer, and Senior Assistant Engineer Officer. From September 1945 until August 1948 he was aboard the U. S. S. COLUMBUS CCA-743 where he performed duties as Senior Assistant Engineer and as Engineer Officer. After this tour of sea duty Lieutenant Commander Emmons went to shore duty in September 1948 Where he spent two years in the Bureau of Ships. From November 1950 until J une 1951 he was at the Guided Missile School at Fort Bliss, Texas. On 15 September 1951 he reported aboard the DYESS as Executive Officer. Lieutenant Commander Emmons holds the Commendation Ribbon, American Defense, American Area, European,-Afr1can:Middle East Area Campaign Cthree starsl, Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Ctwo starsj, World War II Victory, Naval Occupation Service, Phillipine Liberation and China Service Medals.
