Kaye Greene, Nancy Jacobsgaard, Violet Buck, and Mary Elaine Morehart were selected . The second squad con- sisted of Alberta Becker, Barbara Fortner, and Anna Mary Hahn . --First football game of year. Trojans beat Reddick 43-6. --Jim Huddleston kicked football on roof. He retrieved iton Sept- ember 22 . --Peggy Cleary was announced Homecoming Q ueen with Alberta Becker, Nancy Jacobsgaard, Phyllis McConnell'as her court. --Start of Homecoming week. --Everybody was decorating floats . --Snake dance led by Mr. Vickers. Pep rally held around bonfire at A field. First issue of Troian News. --Homecoming Parade. Senior float voted best. Normal beat Tro- ians 20-7. Party for football tea m at Country Club after game . --Homecoming Dance . Highlight of the evening was the crowning of the Queen, Peggy Cleary, escorted by Les Frith, football cap- tain . --Because of Dwight's water problem, the school drinking fountains were turned off. --Phil Tock Fan Club formed. Maggie Meier elected first president. --Frequent trips to Frosty Fred's resulted in a student root beer smuggling ring to offset water shortage. Rudder pictures taken. --Magazine sales campaign started . -Water turned on again. No one reported dying of thirst. Individual pictures of underclassmen taken for Rudder. Bob Mardis and Hubie Grush were hired as ianitors . --Bob Mardis and Hubie Grush fired . Some members of Phil Tock Fan Club arrived at the football game in Bob Mardis's gaily decorated car.

To increase the membershipof the Phil Tock Fan Club, the officers ran a slide at the Blackstone Theatre . --Local people enjoyed seeing Wally Wick and JerryMorphey Wav- ing on television over WGN-TV. --Chuck Christiansen Fan Club Formed. --Phil Tock cha l le n ed Chuck to a boxin match to decide the 9 9 school hero. --Christmas Dance . --Senior Pictures returned. --The Juniors announced that the had ac uired the services of .leo Y q De Zutti's Orchestra For the Junior-Senior Prom. --Several talented upperclassmen went caroling. Mr. Coe treated the group to his homemade candy. --Phil Tock, school hero, won a trip to Florida for two people at the New Year's Eve Dance s onsored b the Lion's Club P Y ' 17--Intramural sports be g i n . Danny's Rebels showed a surprising cheering se cti on led by Maggie Meier and Fern Ingram.
