He is a graduate of Archbishop Alter High School in Dayton, Ohio. In June 1976, he graduated from the United States Naval Acad- emy with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Oceanography and was commissioned an Ensign. CAPT Zelibor entered Naval Flight Officer Training in July 1977 and eamed his wings in April 1978. After completing training as an F-14 radar intercept officer at VF-124, he reported to the Fighting Aardvarks of Fighter Squadron ONE ONE FOUR CVF-1145 in USS America CCV 665 in January 1979. He served in a variety of billets there until December 1981. In January 1982, he was ordered to the Naval Military Personnel Command where he served as the VF sea duty detailer until July 1983. V CAPT Zelibor next reported to USS John F. Kennedy CCV 675 as the Assistant Navigator from September 1983 to November 1985. In May 1986, he began his squadron department head tour with the Red Rippers of Fighter Squadron ONE ONE CVF-115 in USS Forrestal CCV 595 where he served as both the Administrative and Maintenance Officer until June 1988. He screened for fighter command while attached to the Rippers. In July 1988, CAPT Zelibor reported to CINCLANTFLT staff, Norfolk, Va., for duty as Deputy Director for Program Planning and detached in June 1990. He was assigned to the world famous Swordsmen of Fighter Squadron THREE TWO CVF-325 in August 1990, and became Executive Officer in December 1990. CAPT Zelibor deployed with VF-32 to the Red Sea where he participated in Operation Desert Shield! Storm, flying 30 ' combat missions in January 1991 against Iraq. He served as the Swordsmen's Commanding Officer from Febru- ary 1992 to September 1993. In February 1994, CAPT Zelibor reported to Carrier Air Wing THREE CCVW-35 as Deputy Air Wing Commander in USS Dwight D. Eisenhower CCVN 695. He assumed command of CVW-3 in March 1995. During his career, CAPT Zelibor has accumulated over 900 carrier landings and 3,100 tactical flight hours. His personal awards include the Distinguished Flying Cross with Combat V, three Meritorious Service Medals, two StrikelFlight Air Medals and one individual Air Medal with Combat V, three Navy Commendation Medals with Combat V, two Navy Achievement medals, and various campaign and service medals. CAPT Zelibor is married to the former Laurie Fry of Annapolis, Md. They presently reside in Virginia Beach, Va., with their two sons, Thomas Jr. and Michael. I
