In October 1981, Rear Admiral ,Guilbault reported to PRECOMUNIT TICONDE- ROGA, Pascagoula, Miss., and served' as Commanding Officer, .USS TICONDEROGA QCG-475, the first AEGIS cruiser, from com- missioning on 22 January 1983 to January 1985. Following his selection to flag rank, Rear Admiral Guilbault re- ported to the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations fSurface Warfarel in February 1985 and assumed tempo- rary duties of Director, Surface Combat Systems Division QOP-351 through July 1985. He then .as- sumed duties as Director, Com- mand and Control Systems Divi- sion COP-9421 from August 1985 to November 1987. Rear Admiral ,. I -. Guilbault assumed Command of, Cruiser-Destroyer Group -Twelve 7 January 1988. ' 1 P 1 . Rear Admiral Guilbault has a Weapon System Acquisition Man- ager IWSAMJ subspecialty and is a Major -Project Manager Board Se- lectee. He ,attended the -Engineer- ing Science Courseat the Naval' Postgraduate School, ,Monterey, Calif., and holds a Master 'of Sci- ence Degree in Administration, spe- cializing in Computer System Man- agement from George Washington University. He also attended the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in- 1977-78 and CAPSTONE in 1987. Rear Admiral Guilbault's awards include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal with two Stars and the Navy Unit Com- mendation Ribbon. , Rear Admiral Guilbault is mar- ried to the former l-luguette Coulais of Casablanca, Morocco. They have five children: Kim, Lance, Michele, Marc and Paul.

He has served a tour as test pilot at the Naval Air Test Center, NAS Pa- tuxent River, Maryland, and as Ex- ecutive Officer,4.USS CARL VIN- SON QCVNF70l. r In' 1961 through 1964, while at- tached to .Attack Squadron 66 one board -USS, ENTERPRISE QCVN-655, Captain Beck .made . a 69, if fthree',Mediterranean cruises, pare . 4 -,ticipatedi in the Cuban. Missile Blockade and, in 1964, circumnavi- gated the globe with Nuclear .Task Force One..He completed two com- bat deployments to Southeast Asia. The first was in 1968 embarked in USS, HANCOCK QCV-195 with Attack Squadron 163 and the sec- ond' in, 1969 embarked .in USS SI-IANGRI-LA' QCVA-38D with Attack Squadron 152. From March 1974 through December 1976, he completed two peacetime deploy- ments to the Western Pacific on board USS -RANGER QCV-611 with CVW 2. In.December 1976, Captain Beck reported to Attack Squadron 127 as Executive Officer and assumed command, in March 1978. Prior 'toreporting to USS DWIGHT. D. EISENHOWER QCVN-695, he completed a tour of duty as Commanding Officer, USS NIAGARA , FALLS QAFS-35, .ihomeported in Guam, Marianas ,Islands .V 4 ,During Captain Beck's naval ca- reer, he has logged in excess of 3,800 hours of flight time. Additionally, he has piloted more than 20 types . 3 f iof aircraft including the'F-4 Phan- tom, A-7 Corsair, and H-3 Sea King. helicopter. j U - . A ' Captain Beck's awards include the Legionnof Merit,Vone Air Medal and ,strikelflightr Air Medals, Navy Commendation Medal,,Presi-Q dential -Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Armed Forces Ex- peditionary 'Medal, Vietnamese Gallantry Cross andtvarious cam- paign ribbons. While serving at the Naval. Air Test Center, he was awarded 4 the Navy Achievement Medal for his contribution to the flight testing of advanced .weapons guidance' systems. Captain Beck is married to the former Louise,Vasold of Freland, Michigan. They have two children, Steven, who lives in Fort Defiance, Arizona and Karen I-Ianrahan, who lives in Manchester, Missouri.
