Rear Admiral Robert F. Schoultz, U.S. Navy Commander Battle Force Sixth Fleet Rear Admiral Robert F. Schoultz spent his youth in Omaha, Nebraska. He entered the Navy as a student in the University of Nebraska's NROTC program and earned his Naval Aviation Wings and commission as Ensign in September 1945, subsequently advancing in rank to Rear Admiral in February 1974. RAdm SchouItz's early assignments included flight training duties at NAS Cecil Field, Torpedo Squadron TWENTY-FIVE, CIC Controller onboard USS MIDWAY QCVA-417 and Operations Officer of Commander Fleet Aircraft Service Squadron FIVE. He joined the Staff of the Commander in Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet in November 1957 and in August 1960 reported as Executive Officer of Attack Squadron NINETY-TH REE, assuming com- mand in March 1962. Following a tour of duty in the Bureau of Naval Personnel, he joined USS FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT CCVA-423 as Operations Officer and in June 1966 assumed duty as Executive Officer. In July 1967, he reported to the Commander SECOND Fleet staff and in August 1968 became Assistant Chief of Staff for Plans. He took command of the USS ARNEB CLKA-565 in December 1969 and, following a brief tour on the U.S. Naval Air Force At- lantic Fleet Staff, assumed command of the USS FORRESTAL CCV-591 from June 1971 to November 1972. RAdm Schoultz reported for duty to the Bureau of Naval Personnel in November 1972 and, following his selection to flag rank in December 1973, became Deputy Director of the National Military Command Center, J-3, Joint Chiefs of Staff. In March 1975, he was ordered as Vice Director for Operations, J-3 Joint Chiefs of Staff until his subsequent assignment as Commander Carrier Group TWO. His awards include two Legions of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with six bronze stars and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. RAdm Schoultz has attended the Navy General Line School, Navy Intelligence School and the Army War College. He holds a B.S. degree in International Relations from George Wash- ington University. RAdm Schoultz is married to the former Rosemary Parker of Falls City, Nebraska. They have two sons, Robert and Scott. Kyla.,
