Berea College P i , Geology Club if . Xia., I sure do wish I could draw. Since so many of today's jobs deal with industry, this depart- ment is a valuable asset to those entering the industrial fields. In the various levels of drafting, a student learns to use the tools and becomes familiar with the different fundamentals. Later these skills are applied to the specialty fields, where students study the subject of their choice in depth. In the wood and metal shops, different levels are again pro- vided as each student works toward his specific interest. The different industries are stressed, and modern means of application are constantly aiding in new interests. These interests will provide for the new ideas of tomorrow. - Wifi' 1 f 1 - ' .' Home Economics Department The Home Economic Department curriculum has expanded to acquaint girls with the arts of cooking, sewing, home manage- ment, child care, good grooming, home nursing, budgeting and interior decorating. Using the most modern instruction facilities, girls are given an opportunity to become skilled in those areas that could prove both useful and profitable to them in the future. Besides attending classes, the Home Ec.students are often called upon to furnish refreshments for school teas and to serve at school banquets. One of the most delightful department projects is the organization of a play school open to area children.
