The DuVal chapter of the Na- tional Honor Society is the highest honor a student can receive in high school. The purpose of this organization is to create an en- thusiasm for scholastic achieve- ment, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership and responsibility and to encourage the development of good character. Besides being an honor group, NHS is also a serv- ice organization sponsoring the fall Homecoming Game and Dance and ushering for the graduation of the Senior class. The Honor Society has both a fall and spring induction when Seniors and Juniors who have shown the characteristics of an NHS student, are tapped and recognized for their achievements.
