JUNICDRS The juniors could be called the in-between class. They are between the stages of treading lightly , as the sophomores do, and acting like hot stuff , which is the natural and well earned procedure for seniors. The class officers during the sophomore school year of nineteen forty-nine and fifty were Bill Pearce, president, Margaret Sharp, vice president, Marn Ann Serroni, secretaryg and Pat Bell, treasurer. The class was sponsored by Gladys Pfeiffer and Tommy Neal. Misfortune befell the class in their sophomore year when a member of the class, Pat Greer, met with an accident in the high school gymnasium. Several of his bones were broken and consequently Pat was unable to attend school for many months. Following the accident his classmates began a cam- paign to raise money to help pay for his medical expenses. The donors were given small tags bearing the words Pat Greer . The theme of the Sophomore prom held on March 24, 1950 was The Old Master Plaintern. The prom. programs were in the shape of an art- ist's pallet, and the servers were costumed as artists wearing smocks and berets. The sophomore class picnic was held at the B.P.O.E.. picnic grounds on the Florida in the spring of 1950. The class officers for the current junior year and successors of last year's sophomore officers are Davey Feller, president, Roy Angelini, vice president, Teresa Cummins, secretaryg and Jean. Nelson, treasurer. The sponsors for this in-between class are Frank Campbell and Vern- on Fuller. This class either has a jinx on it or it has run out of luck. During its first and only two years in the highschool it has been overtaken by bad luck. This year Bing Johnson, a junior boy, was flown to Denver in a mercy plane on October 1, 1950 with polio. Again the kind hearted, well- doing junior class rushed to the aid of one of its members. Another money raising campaign was successfully staged, This time the tags had Bing Johnson's name on them. The students were urged to send nim Christ- mas cards and birthday cards, which would also include valentine carols since his birthday is on Valentine's Day. He is still in the hospital in Denver and is not yet able to return. to school, but the students hope he will b-e very soon. The prom theme for the junior prom on November 20, 1950 was The Gypsy . At one end of the gym was a wagon representing a gypsy caravan and in the center of the floor was a campfire and on top of it a large kettle. The servers were arrayed in gypsy costumes. To raise money for their own class the juniors sponsored a basket- ball dance following the Farmington-Durango game on October twenty- seventh. This and their class dues payed for the prom and class picnic which was held in the spring. We know the juniors are looking forward to their senior year which is always more fun than any other year, and we hope they have just as good a time as the seniors of '51 did.
