Gnarls League Fzrst Semester Presldent L Scharff V1ce Presldent H Day Secretary and Treasurer Elvlra Relchert Second Semester Pres1dent E Knowles Secretary Treasurer L Adams The purpose of the Curls League IS to uphold the hlghest 1deals of true womanhood courtesy of speech and manner s1mpl1c1ty loyalty and honor as well as to develop among the glrls such act1v1t1es as w1ll promote the good name of Dunsmulr I-l1gh School and further the sp1r1t of servxce good fellow shlp and democracy The oflicers of the League are Presldent v1ce presldent secretary treasurer ed1tor and yell leader These ofhcers are elected twlce a year so that as many glrls as possnble can hold OlTlC2 Each class also has a representatlve who is a member of the QXGCUYIVC commlttee The League meets every Wednesday and has a busmess meetlng once a month At the other meetlngs hygiene IS taught and much valuable mforma t1on IS obta1ned from these lessons The club has a fund separate from that for regular expenses whlch 1S for charlty and whenever a needy call comes the Glrls League IS ready to help Durlng the Thanksglvmg and Chrlstmas hol1days the Glrls League sent out twelve baskets to needy homes Th1s IS the first work of th1s klnd the League has ever done but wlthout a doubt It w1ll now be a yearly ewent Every year the League g1V9S a p1cn1c to the new glrls and Wednesday afternoon May 18 the League gave a Mothers Tea to all the ladles of town who were 1nterested 1n the act1v1t1es of the League l ' 9 Vice President ,,cc,, , e,cc, ,cc, , , ,cc, c H. The Gu-'ls Glee Club Presrdent LOIS SCl1arfI VICL Presldent Loulse Adams Secretary Treasurer Vlola Weamer Llbrarlan Donna Prxce HISIOIIBH Elxzabeth Knowles Instructor MISS Patrlck In the earller part of March the Grrls Chorus was formed 1nto a Cnrls Glee Club wxth all the gxrls who were taklng chorus as charter members At an early meetlng the officers were elected and lt was declded that any gxrl IH school who could meet the requ1rements of the club would be el1g1ble A small amount IS charged for dues so that the girls can buy whatever musxc they wlsh The flrst soclal BCIIVIIY of the club was a H1 Jmks gxven on Frrday evenmg Apr1l 8 The Student Body and Faculty were 1nv1ted but only the glrls took part ln the entertamment The club was dlvlded lnto four groups and each group put on some stunt The varlous acts were Nursery Rhymes A Scottlsh Act A Plrate Act and A Negro Act Every act was good and all drew many laughs from the audlence The remamder of the evenlng was spent ln danclng the Hlgh School Jazz Orchestra furnlshmg the muslc Everyone who attended saxd the affaur was very successful As soon as the club IS better organlzed they wlll have charge of one of the Monday assemblles and hope to put on a very good mus1cal program The final performance of the club was to take a very actlve part IH the operetta Pxckles The charter members of the club are Loulse Adams Beatrlce Bryan Hazel McBr1de Irene Calllck Edna Gebhardt Lucllle Leonard Mlnnle Ida Lxght Cormne Le Bourveau Alxce Tucker Dorothy Guyman Florence Was hau Helen Sellman Myrtle Weamer Donna Prlce Edra Joyce Lo1s Scharff Paulme Packwood Mlldred Leonard Vlola Weamer Betty Knowles and Oramae Penelton -' 9 1 1 I - X 1 . . , . .
