K! 9 l i .ia 5 i F 435-N. t 44 Class History N September eleventh we started our eareer i11 the lhmsmuir lligh School thirty strongx We were quite proud ot' ourselves when we learned we represented about one-third of the student body. Sinee then we have lost a few of our members but others have eome to take their plat-es. 'l'he upper elass students gave us a few weeks to adjust ourselves to our new environment and then informed ns that we were to be duly initiated. 'l'he day arrived and we were ridieulously attired for the annual parade. We were marehed up and down the streets so that all the people might gaze upon us. Vllhen night eame a party was given us and our initiation was eompleted, mueh to our delight. Soon after this big' event we held a meeting to set a date for our return party. Plans were made and tl1e date was sueeessfully set. Un the twenty-seventh ot' Uetober, just before llalloween, we gave our llalloween party. It was our first attempt and we worked hard to make it a sueeess. 'l'he upper elass students seemed to enjoy it and we hope they had as mueh fun as we freshies did. When the basketball season opened we were unable to take rnueh part in the league games, but some of us were fortunate enough to be choosen as subs. W'e organized our own teams and played the Gram- mar sehool teams. The freshmen boys won some of the games and the girls every game. 'l'he girls also won some praetiee games from the first team of the high sehool. During' the baseball season we took a more aetive part. Several of us were seleeted for the first team. Our elass president was ehosen as the girls' piteher and she is surely a first r-lass one. 'We haveu't made a great reeord this year. but remember we are only freshies. Next year we will show you we exeel in quality as well as quantity. Nineteen
