The High School Chorus has for many years served as a means of entertainment for the pupils of Dunkirk High as well as taking part in many programs. Under the guiding hands of Mr. Charles O. Repert, the chorus, sang the popular Song of Christmas by Roy Ringwald for the first time in Dunkirk High at the Christmas program in the new auditorium. The chorus also went on its annual trip to sing at the Fredonia State Teacher's College Spring Festival in May. Besides these activities the chorus has sung many songs for their own pleasure, some of them being, The Night ls Young , I Got Plenty of Nothin ', One World , Deep Purple , and Build Thee More Stately Mansions . Under the direction of Miss Marie Metzger, the Dunkirk High School Senior Band had a busy year during 1947 and 1948. It played for all the home football games as well as travel- ing to Olean and Fredonia to play there. During the Christmas season the band gave a program in the new auditorium for the gllrgtmas assembly. Civic programs and parades were also some of the activities of the i n . A concert was presented on May 6 in the Dunkirk High School auditorium by both the junior and senior bands. Members of the senior band traveled to Fredonia to appear in the annual spring festi- val in the Music Building of the Fredonia State Teacher's College on May 14 and 15.
